The concept of moving tension points derives from the infinite ways in which the forms and drawings of nets can be transformed by vertexes and curves when nets are anchored in different points and are kept in constant tension. These points are studied in relation to the environment that surrounds them and to the way they interact with it (also leading the observer to interact with them).
In May 2019 the paper “The rational space of art. Pietro Lingeri and the Installations of Lisa Borgiani” written by the Architect Alessandro Colombo has been approved by the American Research Institute for Policy Development - publication on the International Journal of Art and Art History Vol. 7 No. 1, 2019
_The Art of the Net defines the artistic activities that take place in space in search of the net shape.
_The shape of the net is defined by the forces that space and the restraining conditions define through the artist's action
_The search is carried out using the net, an industrial material that has no connection with the artistic sphere and has no shape per se; rather, it takes shape when it is subjected to forces that, by inducing states of tension in the material, compel it to find a balance, by assuming in fact a unique, unexpected and unpredictable shape.
_The forces are induced by the net through tension points, which are defined by the space in which one operates and they are sought in this space.
_The art of the net expresses itself in relation to the architectural space, defined as the space resulting from the human design of the space of living, of the city, of the landscape and, therefore, of the man-made environment too (the product of human work).
_The artist does not design the form a priori; rather she carries out a research, using a working method that is based on a few, simple rules.
_The space, whatever it is, is examined to look for the points of attachment of the network, which will become the tension points, inducing the forces that will shape the network. The points constitute a spatial matrix that the artist will use for the installation.
_The search takes place through a real-time action, the outcome of which is not certain beforehand, but only after the action itself has occurred. In this sense, the action that generates the installation is site specific and time specific, in that it depends on a given time and place.
_ As a consequence of the above, the installation is unexpected and unpredictable, at least as far as its final shape and details are concerned, and it is however always exposed to external agents such as light, sun, wind, rain and also human action and interaction that can and must intervene to change its shape over time.
_The installation always has its double in the shadow of the net, which is projected onto the surrounding surfaces by natural and artificial light.
